HOW LONG ARE YOUR CONTRACTS?Publisher licenses are yearly for cloud hosting, or perpetual for onsite hosting (meaning you purchase one time and own that version of software forever).
WHY IS THE LICENSING PER-DEVICE?A device is the computer used to run the Spark Player software (which broadcasts interfaces on your screens). It can be embedded within a screen, like a tablet, or exist as an external device, like a minicomputer attached to one or more televisions with HDMI.
By charging a simple, flat rate for each device in use, our customers get unmatched value tailored to their scale. We don't charge our customers extra for installation, templates, layouts, pages, interfaces, online storage, upload / download bandwidth, amount of content, Spark CMS users, number of sites, or customer service.
CAN I SWITCH LICENSES BETWEEN DIFFERENT DEVICES?You sure can. At the beginning of your Publisher plan, we send you a download link for Spark Player, the signage software that gets installed on compatible devices — such as kiosks, tablets, and external players. You can activate or deactivate the screen license from the Spark Player setup and admin menus, or remotely from the Spark CMS. All licensing occurs in realtime, so when you deactivate one device, the license is free for another device in your pool.
SHOULD I CHOOSE THE CLOUD OR ONSITE NETWORK?Spark needs to store content for your public interfaces, like images, videos, apps, and their display settings. Spark's two network options are tailored to your content hosting requirements.
If you enjoy internet-based cloud services like document sharing, web hosting, and content editing, we recommend the Spark Cloud network. It offers unlimited online storage, unlimited upload / download bandwidth, and a plug-and-play setup experience.
If you have a mandate to keep all hosted data on-premise, choose the Spark Onsite network. We give you the Spark Onsite network software, which gets installed and configured on your compatible servers. The Spark CMS and Spark Player software will then run over your LAN.
